Here’s a cool website dedicated to the life, times and history of the amazing music club My Father’s Place which was located in Roslyn, New York. The New York Times recently ran a great piece about the club and “Eppy” the former owner.
In addition, there is a great new book entitled “Fun and Dangerous”, of which I am the proud owner of a signed copy. As a bonus, it comes with an audio CD containing selected songs that were broadcast live on WLIR-FM during the club’s heyday. It’s the first authorized release from a vault of more than 100 WLIR-FM live radio broadcasts.
You can also join a “Facebook Group Page” dedicated to My Father’s Place. It currently has almost 3,000 fans. Not bad for a music joint that closed in 1987.
The book can be purchased at Amazon. But I highly recommend purchasing a “signed, limited edition” from the Long Island Music Hall of Fame for the same price. Its a pretty good deal.
